What are the prerequisites for acceptance into the acupuncture program?
Answer:
Our acupuncture program is designed specifically for Regulated Health Professionals.
Question:
Who is considered a Regulated Health Professional?
Answer:
A Regulated Health Professional is someone who is a member of one of the regulated professionals under the Regulated Health Professional Act (RHPA). For a full list of member professions, please visit the government website.
Question:
I am not a regulated health care professional but have taken a number of therapy courses and have memberships in various associations. I have a good knowledge of the body; can I take the acupuncture course?
Answer:
No, you would not be able to take the course. Our acupuncture courses are designed specifically for health care professionals.
Question:
As an RMT, can I practice acupuncture with your course?
Answer:
Our Foundations in Acupuncture program allows you to practice acupuncture, as a modality, within your scope as a massage therapist.
Question:
Can I write receipts for acupuncture with the Foundations in Acupuncture course?
Answer:
In Ontario:
Only those registered with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturist of Ontario (CTCMPAO) can write receipts for acupuncture and call themselves "Registered Acupuncturists". For more details please visit their website - www.ctcmpao.on.ca
You are able to write a receipt for your profession and use acupuncture as a modality within your practice.
